Description
No water to drink,
only the dust of a parched earth,
where sun blistered the ground,
and whispers of flow came faint
as dreams slipping through fingers.
Yet, here we sit,
in a world
where every river
tells a story of life,
of rain that tasted like hope,
of lakes that held the stars
in their stillness.
Connection—
we thrive on it,
like roots of trees
breathing in that coolness,
each sip a salute to survival,
every drop a note in the song
of existence.
A child laughs,
splashing in puddles
after the rain,
and we remember—
what it means to matter,
to quench the thirst
not just of body,
but of spirit.
We gather around the wellsprings,
eyes reflecting the spark,
the bubbles of joy,
water binding hearts,
a lifeline drawing us closer,
reminding us
that in the absence of abundance,
we can still search for richness,
the kindness like an oasis,
the laughter wrapped in liquid,
the essence that makes us whole.
So, let us ponder
on what it means to be dry,
to seek the well
within ourselves,
for even in the drought,
we can find ways
to nourish
what is yearning to bloom.
