Rise of the Fireflies

When once there was a sound through the air...
the vibration of musical strum.
No one knows if through voice and song...
or the beating of a lonely drum.
Anticipation of heartfelt care...
and return awaited long.

Then from song to light, on moonlit night...
vibration's reach extends past sight.
Part of it all, we know not why...
but, glad for it all we sit and sigh.

Breathe in peace and out the same...
Connected all in soul domain.
Through personal experience, I have been in the woods and witnessed lightning bugs lighting up in waves in response to noises. P.S. they have no sense of hearing. I can only assume their bioluminescent response is due to the vibrations of the noise. As always, I cannot help but wonder if the same is true elsewhere in the universe. Welcome to my alien world where the fireflies rise. :)
