Description
It was a rickety start,
wheels creaking on the gravel,
the path hardly straight,
but it was all we had.
We brushed dust from our hopes,
clutched them with sweaty palms,
under a sky both heavy and bright,
where the sun battled clouds.
We squinted into the future,
unfolding like a map, edges torn,
whispers of places unseen,
twists and turns waiting ahead.
Every step felt like a question mark,
a leap from the solid ground,
into valleys of uncertainty,
but we pressed on,
hearts drumming in time with dreams.
Wildflowers bloom along the hillside,
painting the dust with colors,
yellow and violet flaunt their pride,
dancing in the gentle breeze,
unfazed by the shadows behind,
they remind us beauty still finds a way,
radiant, even in the unknown,
even when time is just a fleeting guest.
So here we are,
standing between where we were
and where we might go,
holding hands with the moment,
for the hills may one day fade,
but until they don’t,
we hope, we’ll breathe,
and wildflowers will bloom,
unruly, unbothered,
just like us, reaching for the light,
on this rickety road
that becomes our journey.
