Remember when we met in the courtyard,
sunlight dappled on cracked bricks,
laughter echoed between us like music,
you with that crooked smile,
me, fragile with dreams.
The promises we made,
barefoot on pavement,
barely a whisper, daring the wind,
“A year from now, we’ll meet again,”
as if time could hold us gently in its arms.
Words floated free,
glistening hopes strung like beads on a thread,
each one a step toward who we thought we’d be,
filling the air with shapes of our tomorrows,
the future gleaming like the morning dew.
“Send me,” you said,
clutching a folded paper heart,
crafted with layers ofa laughter,
to a place where wishes bloom,
beyond the walls that tried to keep us small.
Do you remember?
The thrill of that moment?

it could hold every dream we dared to breathe?
